Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have rescued six more abducted persons in Borno State, intensifying ongoing search-and-rescue operations targeting terrorists and raising fresh hopes for families of victims still in captivity.
The victims, who were kidnapped from Mussa community in Askira/Uba Local Government Area in May, were rescued during coordinated military operations in Talakawa, Chibok Local Government Area. They have since been evacuated to a secure facility for medical evaluation, rehabilitation, and eventual reunification with their families.
The latest breakthrough came as troops sustained intelligence-driven air and ground offensives aimed at rescuing students of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa, who were abducted by terrorists.
Military sources said troops, while exploiting the terrorists’ withdrawal routes, recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition abandoned by the fleeing insurgents, indicating that the sustained pressure by security forces is forcing the criminals to retreat.
Operation HADIN KAI described the rescue as another significant milestone in its ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, stressing that coordinated operations would continue until all abducted victims are accounted for and terrorist strongholds dismantled.
The Theatre Command urged residents to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies, and ignore unverified reports capable of creating unnecessary fear or panic, assuring the public that troops remain committed to restoring lasting peace across the North-East.
