Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor of Borno State, has emerged as a resilient and courageous leader in the face of overwhelming adversity.
Since assuming office, Zulum has been at the forefront of efforts to restore stability to a state deeply affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
His hands-on approach and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people have made him a symbol of hope and leadership, not only in Borno but across Nigeria.
Since taking office in 2019, Governor Zulum inherited a state ravaged by insurgency, with thousands displaced and essential infrastructure destroyed. However, Zulum has consistently refused to back down.
His frequent visits to conflict-ridden areas and his direct engagement with affected communities have set him apart as a leader determined to listen and act on behalf of his people.
One defining moment of his leadership occurred in 2020, when his convoy came under attack by Boko Haram militants on the way to Baga. Instead.
