The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), even as three persons—including a parent—have been taken into custody over alleged exam fraud.
In a statement issued by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board confirmed that candidates who wrote the exam on April 16 can now check their scores.
However, JAMB clarified that while results are available for viewing, printing is yet to commence as the examination process is still ongoing nationwide.
The Board revealed that two candidates and one parent were apprehended for allegedly attempting to manipulate results using artificial intelligence and other electronic devices—raising fresh concerns over the growing sophistication of examination malpractice.
JAMB warned that anyone found guilty would face the full weight of the law, reiterating its zero-tolerance stance against cheating.
“The integrity of our examinations remains non-negotiable,” the Board stressed, assuring that strict monitoring systems are in place to detect and punish malpractice.
Candidates have been advised to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the phone numbers used during registration.
Meanwhile, JAMB assured the public that more results will be released in batches as the examination progresses.
The development underscores the Board’s continued efforts to safeguard the credibility of one of Nigeria’s most critical entrance examinations amid evolving digital threats.
