The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has commended its personnel for delivering a seamless security operation during Vice President Kashim Shettima’s one-day official visit to the state.
State Commandant, AD Moriki Acti Anim, praised the officers for their professionalism, vigilance and commitment to duty, saying their efforts helped ensure that the Vice President’s engagements were conducted peacefully and without security hitches.
Moriki gave the commendation on Tuesday during a meeting with senior management officers of the Command, where he reviewed the Corps’ performance before, during and after the Vice President’s visit on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
He urged personnel to sustain the momentum by remaining proactive in protecting lives and property, while strengthening the security of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across Katsina State.
The Vice President’s visit featured a busy schedule of official and political engagements, including the flag-off of the Community Investment Fund under the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
Shettima also received new defectors into the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a political gathering at Peoples Square, Government House.
The Vice President subsequently commissioned three major road projects executed by the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
They include the 4.80-kilometre dualised Kofar Sauri–Central Mosque Roundabout Road, 2.40-kilometre dualised Central Police Station Junction–Kofar Kaura Underpass Road, and the newly constructed 4-kilometre Filin Polo–Ring Road.
He also launched 30 CNG hybrid buses and 200 Phase I electric tricycles, aimed at improving public transportation and easing mobility for residents.
Commending the NSCDC personnel, Commandant Moriki urged them not to rest on their achievements, but to maintain the highest standards of discipline, vigilance and professionalism.
He stressed that the Corps must remain ready to respond to emerging security challenges while ensuring the protection of strategic government and public infrastructure across the state.
The commendation was contained in a statement signed by SC Buhari Hamisu, CDPRO, Katsina State Command, on behalf of the State Commandant.
