Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has approved ₦63.65 million to pay the registration fees of 67 Kebbi indigenes undergoing professional legal training at the Nigerian Law School for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The approval was disclosed in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Professor Junaidu Bello Marshal, SAN, and issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.

Under the arrangement, each of the 67 beneficiaries will receive ₦950,000 to cover their registration fees, bringing the total financial commitment by the state government to ₦63,650,000.

The Attorney-General said the intervention was part of Governor Idris’ efforts to support Kebbi indigenes pursuing legal education and ensure that financial difficulties do not stand in the way of their professional training.

He expressed appreciation to the governor for his continued support for law students and the Ministry of Justice, saying the payment would ease the financial burden on the beneficiaries and allow them to concentrate on their studies.

Professor Marshal said the initiative would also contribute to the development of a new generation of legal practitioners from Kebbi State.

The latest approval adds to previous interventions by the Kebbi State Government, which also settled tuition and registration fees for Kebbi indigenes at the Nigerian Law School in 2024 and 2025.

The state government’s repeated funding of the students’ legal education reflects its continued financial intervention in professional training for indigenes enrolled at the Nigerian Law School.
