The Gombe State House of Assembly has thrown its weight behind the proposed handover of the General Hospital, Billiri, and the Snakebite Hospital, Kaltungo, to the Federal Government for conversion into specialised referral centres.
The approval followed the consideration of a request forwarded to the House by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, with lawmakers describing the move as an important development for specialised healthcare delivery in the state.
The motion was moved by Hon. Yakubu Daniel, representing Billiri East, and Hon. Gabriel Galadima Pushison, representing Kaltungo West, and seconded by Hon. Musa Buba, representing Balanga North, and Hon. Yerima Ladan Gaule.
