The Oyo State Government on Monday demolished a three-bedroom bungalow allegedly used by kidnappers to hold Mrs. Olaide John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons captive.
The building, located in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road in Ibadan, was pulled down as part of efforts to tackle criminal hideouts and strengthen security across the state.
Mrs. John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons were reportedly abducted and held in the house before their eventual rescue by security operatives following a coordinated operation.
Officials said the demolition sends a strong warning to criminals who use residential buildings and other structures as bases for kidnapping and related crimes.
Residents of the area gathered as heavy equipment moved in to bring down the bungalow, which authorities described as a key location in the investigation into the abduction.
The latest action underscores the state’s resolve to deny criminal elements safe havens and reinforce public confidence in ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and violent crime.
