A chieftain of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), Ahidjo Ibrahim Karlahi, has filed a lawsuit against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), challenging the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as a political party.
The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1115/2026, was filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja on June 2, 2026, with the NDC named as the second respondent in the case.
Karlahi is contesting what he described as the “illegal registration” of the NDC, setting the stage for a legal battle that could test the electoral commission’s powers and procedures in approving new political parties.
