As Nigerians marked International Workers’ Day, Senate President Godswill Akpabio assured workers that the National Assembly of Nigeria is set to push for improved wages and welfare.
Akpabio acknowledged the biting realities of rising living costs and increasing workplace pressures, noting that lawmakers are not oblivious to the daily struggles faced by Nigerian workers.
He pledged that the legislature would prioritize policies and laws aimed at easing economic hardship, boosting salaries, and strengthening labour protections across sectors.
The assurance comes amid growing calls for wage reviews and better working conditions, with workers urging the government to match promises with swift action.
