A female farmer, identified as Mrs Sarah Luka, has sustained injuries following an alleged attack by suspected herders at Josho village in Daffo District of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, after a disagreement allegedly broke out over cattle grazing on Luka’s farmland.
According to a security report, the farmer was said to have resisted the alleged grazing activities, following which she was reportedly attacked by the suspected herders.
Troops of Sector 5, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), were alerted to the incident and promptly moved to the community in response to the distress report.
On arrival, the troops reportedly found Luka injured, while the suspected attackers had already fled the area.
The injured farmer was subsequently evacuated to a hospital where she received medical attention.
Security operatives have since launched efforts to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are expected to establish the facts of the confrontation and determine appropriate legal action based on the outcome of the investigation.
