AVM Umaru Leads Charge Against Kano’s Drug Menace

The DG emphasized the need for collective efforts involving federal government agencies, such as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and the Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps (NCDSC), to combat the issue.

AVM Umaru highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to tackling the proliferation of substandard products and illicit drugs.

He announced that mechanisms have been established to promote youth empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, recognizing this as a vital strategy to reduce drug abuse and related social problems.

The retired AVM underscored the role of community policing in fostering stronger partnerships among stakeholders and urged community leaders, parents, and institutions to work collaboratively in guiding the youth.

He stressed the importance of taking protective measures to secure the future of young people and prevent them from falling victim to drug abuse.
