Vice President Kashim Shettima has commissioned a newly built Governor’s Office Complex in Borno State, marking a major upgrade of the state’s seat of power under Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
The modern facility, part of a wider infrastructure drive, is aimed at boosting efficiency and creating a better working environment for government officials.
Governor Zulum revealed that the former office complex, which had stood for over three decades, had become outdated and required urgent overhaul to meet current administrative demands.
“This upgrade is necessary to improve productivity and service delivery at the Government House,” the governor noted while briefing the Vice President ahead of the inauguration.
In his address, Shettima applauded the initiative, describing it as a bold investment in governance that will strengthen the executive arm and enhance public service performance.
Beyond the office complex, the Vice President also inaugurated several key projects, including new residential lodge annexes and a Government House clinic, further expanding the state’s administrative and welfare infrastructure.
Adding a spiritual dimension to the event, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Muhammad Mustapha, delivered a sermon emphasizing reflection, repentance, and prayers for peace, especially in light of ongoing security challenges.
The ceremony drew top dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur, senior lawmakers, ministers, and party leaders, underscoring the significance of the projects in Borno’s rebuilding and governance reforms.
