In acknowledgement of this year’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Her Excellency Huriyya Dauda Lawal, the Wife of the Governor of Zamfara State, in collaboration with the Center for Community Excellence, has generously donated hygiene kits to the students of Government Girls Secondary School, Kaura Namoda.

The kit contains essential items such as sanitary pads, pomade, detergent, underwear, and exercise books aimed at promoting health and hygiene among the students.
During the distribution event, Her Excellency emphasized the importance of collective support and ongoing awareness-raising efforts to combat sexual harassment and all forms of violence against women and children.
She asserted the necessity of fostering a community where victims feel secure and supported in reporting instances of gender-based violence.
“Gender-based violence is unacceptable, and it is crucial to speak out and seek assistance if you or someone you know has experienced it,” she stated.
According to the statement, Her Excellency also extended support to thousands of women in the Tudun Gandau area of Kaura Namoda by distributing rice, clothing materials, and cash.
The initiative is part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
The theme for this year’s campaign is “Invest to Prevent Violence against Women and Girls.”
