The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has been plunged into mourning following the death of its Deputy Women Leader, Hajiya Fatima Mairiga, who passed away on Saturday in Kano after a brief illness.
Her death has left a vacuum within the party, where she was widely regarded as a committed grassroots mobiliser and a passionate advocate for women’s participation in politics.
According to a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Yobe State Deputy Governor, Hussaini Maisuleh, the late APC chieftain devoted years of loyal service to strengthening the party across the state, earning the respect of party faithful through her dedication and commitment.
The statement announced that her funeral prayer (Salatul Janazah) will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre in Damaturu.
Family members, political associates, party supporters, and sympathisers are expected to attend the burial to pay their final respects to the late women leader, whose contributions to the APC and grassroots political mobilisation in Yobe State will be remembered.
