The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its presidential campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with former Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’aziz Yari, appointed as Director-General.
The party released the campaign structure on Saturday as it begins preparations to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
According to the list made public by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the campaign council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will occupy the position of Vice Chairman.
Yari’s appointment as Director-General places the former governor at the centre of the APC’s campaign machinery as the party moves to consolidate its political structure ahead of the 2027 contest.
The council is expected to coordinate the party’s nationwide campaign, mobilise supporters and stakeholders, and drive the APC’s electoral strategy across the country.
The unveiling of the council signals the ruling party’s early mobilisation for the 2027 presidential election, with Tinubu and Shettima expected to provide the leadership while other senior party figures take up key roles in the campaign structure.
