Borno State Government

KATSINA — Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commended residents of Dutsin-Ma for their continued cooperation with security agencies, the Community Watch Corps and vigilante groups in the fight against insecurity.

Radda gave the commendation when he received a delegation of Dutsin-Ma stakeholders on a courtesy visit at the Muhammadu Buhari House in Katsina.

The governor said the support of local communities had played an important role in sustaining peace and improving security across Dutsin-Ma and other areas that previously faced serious threats from banditry and other criminal activities.

According to him, his administration inherited significant challenges but has remained focused on implementing programmes and policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents while strengthening security across the state.

He disclosed that his government had committed substantial resources to security operations and development projects, particularly in communities that had been severely affected by insecurity.

Radda noted that the situation in Dutsin-Ma had improved considerably, with several locations that were once regarded as difficult to access because of security threats gradually returning to normalcy.

The governor assured the delegation that the concerns presented during the meeting would receive appropriate attention, stressing that his administration would continue to pursue responsive, inclusive and people-oriented governance.

Earlier, the Chairman of Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area, Alhaji Kabir Abdulsalam Shema, reaffirmed the people’s support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration at the state and federal levels.

Shema said the delegation, which included Dutsin-Ma stakeholders’ chairman, Alhaji Nuhu Kuki; political appointees; party leaders; women and youth representatives, was in Katsina to appreciate the governor for his attention to the development needs of the area.

He also described Radda as a son of Dutsin-Ma who had demonstrated commitment to the progress of the community.

The member representing Dutsin-Ma Constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Khamis, said the people of the area would reciprocate the government’s efforts through their support during the forthcoming general elections.

Also speaking, Yandakan Katsina and District Head of Dutsin-Ma, Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada, highlighted what he described as major achievements recorded by the Radda administration in the area.

He listed interventions in healthcare, education, security, urban renewal, employment, agriculture and other sectors as evidence of the government’s focus on improving the lives of residents.

Other members of the delegation who spoke at the meeting included Commissioner of the Katsina State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Bashir Tanimu; Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Teachers Service Board and Engineer Idris Nalado Karofi, among others.

The stakeholders’ visit further underscored the growing partnership between the Katsina State Government and communities in tackling insecurity while advancing development at the grassroots.
