Police operatives in Bauchi have mount a discreet investigations into the raping of a two-year old baby, who was dumped motionless after the heinous act.
The ugly incident, according to the police public relations officer (PPRO), the matter was reported to the Divisional Police Office, Ningi LGA Tuesday, 5th November, 2024.
“On November 5, 2024, an incident was reported to the Ningi Police Divisional Headquarters that a motionless body of two-year-old baby was found beside a mosque on Deneva Street, Ningi LGA, with suspected signs of rape”.
The Commissioner of the Bauchi State Police Command, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, upon received the report of the incident, ordered an immediate discreet investigation into the matter, as he also advised residents of the area to assist in this regard.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil explained that detectives were dispatched to the scene of the incident upon receiving the report of the incident.
According to him, the victim’s body was taken to the General Hospital Ningi, where a medical report confirmed that the baby had suffered severe injuries as result of penetration which led to her death.
Commoner Auwal Musa Mohammed condemned the heinous act, and directed the Divisional Police in Ningi Officer to make extra efforts to apprehend the perpetrators with a view to bring them to justice.
He also called on parents and guardians to ensure the safety of their children, ‘not to allow them wander around the streets’, and solicited public’s assistance with any useful information that could help in arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators.
