Governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, Kashim Musa Tumsah, has firmly denied reports claiming he has withdrawn from the party’s governorship race, describing the rumours as false, misleading and politically motivated.
In a statement issued by the campaign’s Media Directorate and signed by Sani Gazas Chinade Damaturu, the campaign declared that Tumsah remains fully committed to contesting the forthcoming APC gubernatorial primary election in the state.
The statement stressed that the aspirant’s participation is rooted in his belief in justice, fairness, due process and strict compliance with the Electoral Act 2026 as well as APC guidelines governing direct primaries.
Tumsah reaffirmed his determination to continue the struggle for internal democracy within the party, insisting that his mission goes beyond personal ambition and reflects a broader effort to protect democratic values within the APC in Yobe State.
He called on his supporters, associates and party loyalists across the state to remain calm, peaceful and steadfast, assuring them of his unwavering commitment to pursuing the process responsibly and democratically.
The APC aspirant also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party officials and security agencies to ensure transparency, fairness and credibility during the governorship primary election.
Expressing optimism about the future of the party, Tumsah maintained that adherence to democratic principles would ultimately strengthen the APC in Yobe State and position it for victory in the 2027 general elections.
