Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified their offensive in northern Borno, clearing Jilli and 17 other settlements in a sweeping operation that underscores the military’s growing dominance in the region.
The clearance mission, carried out on April 20, 2026, by the Army Headquarters Intervention Battalion under Operation Desert Sanity, targeted suspected ISWAP strongholds along the volatile Nganzai–Kukawa axis.
Advancing with precision, the troops moved through key communities including Sumari Ngomari, Gudusuri, Kaleri, Malari, Ali Chiromari, Goni Kakari, Baram Karauwa, Maji Furamti, Ngwubala, Fulatari Ardo Yura, Bamma Bukar Malumi, Jilli, Damburi, Dabira Liwanti, Unburari, Bulabulin, and Bukar Suguri.
Military sources revealed that the operation encountered no resistance, with residents seen going about their daily activities—an indication of restored confidence and improved security across the cleared areas.
“No contact was made with insurgents, and no unusual incidents were recorded during the advance,” a security source confirmed.
Despite the calm, authorities warned that the theatre remains unpredictable, stressing that troops are maintaining heightened vigilance, strong morale, and combat readiness.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive clearance and domination patrols, aimed at choking off terrorist movement and consolidating lasting peace across Borno’s troubled communities.
