Troops of Sector 3, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have rescued a man who sustained gunshot wounds after suspected Fulani bandits attacked Rafin Bauna Village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, when troops deployed at DTV6 responded swiftly to reports of gunshots in the community.
The military intervention forced the attackers to flee before they could inflict further harm on residents.
Troops subsequently combed the area and rescued a victim identified as Mr. Bulus, who had been shot during the attack.
He was immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted for medical treatment.
Following the incident, security forces intensified fighting patrols across the area in a bid to track the fleeing attackers and prevent them from regrouping or launching another assault.
The troops are also maintaining heightened vigilance across surrounding communities as efforts continue to restore confidence and ensure the safety of residents.
The latest operation underscores the continued military presence in vulnerable communities across Plateau State as security forces step up measures to check attacks and protect lives and property.
