Troops of Operation Safe Haven have arrested four suspected criminal youths during a late-night raid on a hideout in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was conducted at about 2115 hours on April 18 by personnel of Sector 4 (Sub-Sector 41) following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected troublemakers in the area.
The raid targeted a known hideout at NTV Mazat in Gashish District, where troops stormed the location and apprehended four suspects without resistance.
Those arrested were identified as Aaron Joshua (21), Ernest David (21), Ishaya Haruna (19), and Kyenshak Yakubu (28).
According to security sources, the suspects are believed to be part of a wider network of youths allegedly linked to acts of violence and disturbances in some communities within the locality.
Following their arrest, the suspects were taken into custody for preliminary profiling and interrogation as investigations continue to establish the extent of their involvement in criminal activities.
Military authorities described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal cells and deny them freedom of action in Barkin Ladi and adjoining communities.
The latest breakthrough, officials say, underscores the sustained push by security forces to restore calm and strengthen stability across Plateau State.
