Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected logistics supplier and informant linked to terrorist activities during a patrol operation in Borno State, further tightening the noose around insurgent support networks.
Security sources said the suspect, identified as Abba Abdullahi, 37, was intercepted at about 11:23 a.m. on April 22 by personnel of the 192 Battalion (Mechanised), Forward Operating Base Pulka, while on routine patrol along key access routes into the area.
The operation, conducted under the ongoing counter-insurgency framework, reportedly uncovered attempts to move logistics supplies from Pulka towards suspected Islamic State West Africa Province enclaves along the Pulka–Wurutakure axis in the Dure area.
Military sources disclosed that the suspect, who is also said to be a member of a local vigilante group, was caught conveying assorted items including food supplies and household materials believed to be destined for insurgent camps.
Recovered items include wrappers, detergents, clothing materials, foodstuffs, and consumables such as energy drinks and seasoning products.
Authorities said the suspect is currently in custody alongside the recovered exhibits for further investigation, stressing that the arrest is part of intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics and intelligence networks.
Military officials reaffirmed that clearance and interdiction operations will continue across vulnerable corridors to deny insurgents access to supplies and mobility.
