Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, neutralised scores of terrorists in Yar Galadima village, Maru Local Government Area, following a distress call from residents and vigilantes.
Responding swiftly to the 5 a.m. alert on December 1, 2024, troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Hanutara encountered ambushes at two separate locations en route to the village. With resilience and tactical superiority, the troops cleared the ambush sites, neutralising several attackers as others fled.
The Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma provided critical close air support, targeting fleeing terrorists and ensuring no safe escape. The operation successfully restored peace to the area, reaffirming the Joint Task Force’s commitment to eradicating terrorist threats across the North West and Niger State.
Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, emphasized the unwavering resolve of Operation Fansan Yamma to protect lives and secure communities in the region.
