KATSINA — Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on residents of Funtua Zone and the state at large to renew the mandates of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, as he officially flagged off the Tinubu/Dikko campaign in Funtua.

Radda made the call on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, during a campaign rally attended by thousands of APC supporters, party leaders, political office holders and stakeholders from across Funtua Zone.

The governor said the campaign was not merely about seeking votes but also an opportunity to account for his administration’s performance, engage citizens and renew commitments to building a more secure, prosperous and inclusive Katsina State.

Speaking under his administration’s Building Your Future agenda, Radda identified security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare and economic empowerment as key areas of focus.

He stressed that lasting peace remained fundamental to economic recovery and development, noting that insecurity disrupts farming, business activities and children’s access to education.

“Without peace, economic activities suffer, children cannot go to school, and farmers cannot go to farm. We will sustain the momentum until every resident can go about his lawful business without fear,” the governor said.

Radda Highlights Projects, Promises More Development

The governor also highlighted investments in road construction, urban renewal and energy solutions, describing Funtua as a strategic commercial centre whose development was vital to agricultural trade, employment and economic growth.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting farmers, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, women and young people through entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and policies designed to encourage private-sector investment.

On social services, Radda said his government was strengthening public schools, improving teachers’ capacity, expanding primary healthcare services and widening health insurance coverage for vulnerable residents.

He also commended President Tinubu for the reforms being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying Katsina would continue to align its development priorities with federal initiatives to maximise their benefits for citizens.

Radda urged APC candidates and party stakeholders to conduct their campaigns with humility, discipline and respect for democratic choices.

He further charged party leaders and grassroots mobilisers across the state’s 34 local government areas and 361 wards to maintain unity, promote peaceful political engagement and intensify door-to-door mobilisation.

Dangiwa, Saulawa Rally APC Supporters

Earlier, the Director-General of the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, thanked the people of Funtua Zone for their impressive turnout at the rally.

Dangiwa said President Tinubu was working to reposition the national economy, while Governor Radda was pursuing development initiatives at the grassroots.

He urged party members to strengthen their structures and sustain mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Also speaking, the Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described the flag-off as an opportunity to consolidate the party’s structures and prepare its candidates for the forthcoming elections.

Saulawa presented party flags and banners to candidates contesting the three senatorial seats, 15 House of Representatives seats and 34 State House of Assembly seats in Katsina State.

He charged the candidates to prioritise the collective interests of the party and effective representation of their constituents.

The rally was attended by Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe; former governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema; national and state APC leaders; federal and state lawmakers; local government chairmen; candidates; traditional rulers; and thousands of party supporters from across Funtua Zone.

The Funtua flag-off forms part of the APC’s mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with party leaders seeking to strengthen their grassroots presence across Katsina State.
