Military authorities have confirmed that some soldiers sustained injuries during a fierce encounter with terrorists in the North-East, but assured that the affected troops are stable and currently receiving medical attention.
The military disclosed that the wounded personnel were evacuated for treatment following the operation, while troops continued aggressive pursuit and exploitation missions to track down fleeing terrorists.
According to security sources, the ongoing follow-up operations are aimed at consolidating recent battlefield gains and preventing surviving insurgents from regrouping.
Military authorities noted that the latest failed terrorist attack further demonstrated the combat readiness, resilience, and operational capability of troops deployed across the North-East theatre.
The military added that sustained offensives and coordinated ground operations continue to place heavy pressure on terrorist groups operating within the region.
Security officials also reaffirmed the commitment of troops to maintaining momentum against insurgents and restoring lasting peace in affected communities.
The development comes amid intensified military campaigns targeting Boko Haram and ISWAP enclaves across parts of Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states.
