Troops have foiled a suspected human trafficking attempt in Kaduna State, arresting a suspect and rescuing three teenage girls in Jema’a Local Government Area.
Security sources said the operation was carried out by personnel of Operation Safe Haven at about 1:27 p.m. on May 3 in Madakiya, following routine security checks.
The suspect was intercepted alongside the victims, with preliminary investigations revealing plans to traffic the girls to Delta State.
Authorities confirmed that both the suspect and the rescued teenagers are currently in custody as investigations continue to uncover the wider trafficking network behind the operation.
Security officials also assured that efforts are underway to ensure the safety, protection, and welfare of the rescued victims.
The successful intervention underscores ongoing operations by security forces to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable persons across the region.
