Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has claimed that he possesses evidence capable of proving in court that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is 90 years old.
Atiku, according to the BBC, said he was prepared to present the evidence before the appropriate judicial forum, turning the long-running controversy over the President’s age into a potential courtroom battle.
The former presidential candidate made the claim while speaking on the contentious issue surrounding Tinubu’s age and personal records.
“I have evidence to present in court to show President Tinubu is 90 years old,” Atiku was quoted as saying.
The allegation is likely to reignite debate over the President’s age, a subject that has generated controversy in Nigerian political circles over the years.
Tinubu has consistently been officially presented as being younger than the age claimed by Atiku.
The latest statement by the former Vice President adds a fresh twist to the political rivalry between the two prominent figures and could potentially shift the age controversy from public debate to the courtroom.
