President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner, patriot and dedicated public servant.
In a congratulatory message issued on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, President Tinubu celebrated Shettima’s contributions to Borno State and Nigeria, noting his distinguished career in banking and his service as Governor of Borno State before becoming Vice President.
Tinubu commended Shettima for demonstrating courage, diligence, compassion and commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians throughout his years in public service.
The President also acknowledged the Vice President’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), his support for the administration and his dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As Chairman of the National Economic Council, Tinubu said Shettima had provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policies and promoting collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments.
He further praised Shettima’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, saying these qualities had contributed to strengthening good governance in the country.
President Tinubu described the Vice President’s loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty as invaluable to the administration and thanked him for his steadfast support and partnership.
He expressed confidence that their continued collaboration would help the administration make meaningful progress towards building the Nigeria of their dreams.
The President, on behalf of the Federal Government, wished Shettima many more years of purposeful service to the nation and prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to guide, protect and strengthen him with wisdom and good health.
