Former President of Nigeria,Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, has commended the infrastructural development strides of the Bauchi State Government under Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, saying the administration has delivered tangible dividends of democracy to the people.
Dr. Jonathan made the commendation on Sunday in Bauchi Metropolis during the commissioning of 18 completed township road projects executed by the Bala Mohammed-led administration.
The roads, spread across the metropolitan city and its outskirts, were commissioned by the former President as part of activities marking his visit to the state.
Addressing a large gathering of dignitaries, traditional rulers, and residents, Dr. Jonathan lauded Governor Bala Mohammed for his commitment to infrastructure development.
“Within the span of over seven years, you have paid your dues of delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Bauchi State,” he said.
The former President appealed to the people of Bauchi to continue supporting the administration to ensure sustainable growth and development in the state.
Governor Bala Mohammed told his august visitor that the completed township roads are part of his administration’s commitment to addressing the poor road network facing the people.
He appreciated the unwavering support of the people of Bauchi State towards the success of his administration, and thanked Dr. Jonathan for his love and support to the people of the state.
The Bauchi State Commissioner of Works and Transport, Prof. Saul Titus Ketkukah, told the former President and the public that the 18 roads commissioned are just a few among the many road infrastructural projects executed by the administration across the state.
According to him, the projects are assisting greatly in improving the living standard of the people.
Goodwill messages were presented by the Executive Chairman of Bauchi Local Government Area, Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar, and the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Sulaiman.
The Emir of Bauchi, HRH Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, gave the vote of thanks. He appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for taking road projects to the doorsteps of the people of Bauchi State, and called for continued support and prayers for the administration.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, clerics, and a cross-section of Bauchi residents.
