State transparency accountability graduated 20 fellows of LG accountability in Yobe

The state transparency and accountability with the support from Nigeria Youth future fund has graduated 20 fellows trained on different aspects of civil engagement, leadership,local government accountability.

The Chief Executive Officer,State transparency and Accountability Initiative,Muazu Modu  revealed this on Monday in Damaturu during an event of Youth idea summit with had the theme ,” Reimagining Youth civic participation in local governance and the Application of the Artificial Intelligence (AI)” in different aspects of human endeavor.

Mu’azu stated that,the Youth fellowship and accountability fellows undergone 9 month intensive programme on multi dimensional capacity building training on the leadership,social accountability and management.

“The fellows were trained on different aspect of civil engagement, leadership and how they can be able to scale up there ideas and impact across rural communities.

“We expected that this fellows can be able to go back to their Communities and scale up what they learned in the fellowship.

“We are the next generation of civil leaders,we expect that this youth people can be able to go to their Communities to start up their own initiative and ideas to take ownership of issues around public financial management in their local governments”said Mu’azu.

Zainab Musa Shuaibu who is one of the graduating fellows narrative her experiences,said she witnessed the heartbreaking reality of young girls hawking day and night in Auto School Local Government.

According to Zainab, these girls are exposed to dangers and burdened with responsibilities beyond their years.”This fellowship, I’ve gained the knowledge and skills to advocate for children their rights and protect them from harm.”

She called on government and all the authority concerned to ban child hawking, especially at night, and called on parents to prioritize their children’s education.
