The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, Baba Mohammed Azare, has issued a strong warning to officers over disobedience to directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
Speaking during a high-level virtual conference with senior officers, CP Azare expressed concern over rising cases of indiscipline, selective obedience, and disregard for operational guidelines within the Command.
He stressed that the Nigeria Police Force operates on a strict chain of command, warning that any breach of the IGP’s directives amounts to gross misconduct and will attract severe sanctions, including dismissal.
“Obedience to lawful orders is not optional but mandatory. The era of impunity is over,” the CP declared, reaffirming the Command’s zero tolerance for insubordination and unprofessional conduct.
Azare further directed supervising officers to enforce strict compliance, noting that commanders will be held accountable for the actions of their subordinates.
The police boss urged personnel to embrace discipline, integrity, and professionalism, assuring residents of Akwa Ibom State of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
