LAGOS — Vice President Kashim Shettima has met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos following his return from the 2026 United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Shettima represented President Tinubu at the global gathering, where he participated in high-level engagements focused on Nigeria’s interests and priorities on the international stage.
During the meeting, the Vice President briefed the President on his engagements and discussions at the UN General Assembly, highlighting issues of importance to Nigeria and its development agenda.
Shettima also reaffirmed his confidence in the Tinubu administration, praising the President’s leadership at a challenging period.
“Tough times wouldn’t last forever, but tough people do,” the Vice President said, in a message reflecting optimism and resilience amid the nation’s current challenges.
The meeting underscored the continued coordination between the President and his deputy as the administration pushes forward with its reform agenda and efforts to address the country’s economic and security challenges.
