Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has commended Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for implementing development projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.

Governor Zulum gave the commendation while commissioning the multi-million-naira ultra-modern Secretariat of the Kwami West Local Council Development Area in Bojude, Gombe State.

He described Governor Inuwa Yahaya as one of the governors working tirelessly for the development of his people, citing road projects within and outside Gombe metropolis as examples.

Governor Zulum also prayed for sustained peace, security and development in Gombe State, the North-East and Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said the creation of Kwami West LCDA was aimed at bringing governance closer to the people and accelerating development at the grassroots.

He explained that although the creation of new local government areas was not part of his campaign promises, his administration established the LCDA after carefully considering the needs and demands of the people.

Governor Inuwa said the initiative was inspired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administrative model as Governor of Lagos State, which was aimed at taking governance closer to the grassroots.

He maintained that Kwami West LCDA had come to stay, adding that efforts to provide constitutional backing for the newly created LCDAs were progressing.

The Director General of the Gombe State Joint Projects Development and Essential Services Agency, Builder Mahmood Yusuf, said the new secretariat addressed the long-standing need for a befitting administrative complex for the area.

He said the facility comprises administrative offices, a warehouse and solar-powered streetlights, among other facilities, designed to provide a conducive working environment for staff and improve service delivery.

The Chairman of Kwami West LCDA, Alhaji Sa’ad Abdulmumini, commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the project, saying it would strengthen administrative services and contribute to the socio-economic development of the area.

As part of his engagements during the visit, Governor Zulum also commissioned the newly constructed palace of the District Head of Bojude.
