The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a patriot and distinguished leader committed to Nigeria’s progress.
The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, conveyed the congratulatory message on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, on behalf of his colleagues in the Northern Governors’ Forum.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the Vice President’s attainment of 60 years provides an opportunity to reflect on his remarkable journey in public service and his contributions to the development of Nigeria.
He described Shettima as a leader who has distinguished himself throughout his political career through intellectual depth, courage, strategic foresight, humility and commitment to the public good.
The Gombe State Governor particularly commended the Vice President for his loyalty and partnership with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He noted that Shettima’s contributions have continued to support the administration’s efforts to address Nigeria’s economic and developmental challenges.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also praised the Vice President’s leadership of the National Economic Council (NEC), saying his role in coordinating critical economic policy discussions and promoting collaboration between the Federal Government and the states demonstrates his experience, competence and commitment to national development.
He said turning 60 was not only a celebration of age but also an opportunity to reflect on a life of purposeful service, remarkable achievements and dedication to the Nigerian people.
The NSGF Chairman noted that Shettima’s leadership journey remains an inspiration, particularly to young Nigerians aspiring to contribute meaningfully to national development.
He expressed confidence that the Vice President would continue to deploy his experience, intellect and patriotism in supporting President Tinubu and advancing the collective aspirations of Nigerians.
