A senior Saudi official, Dr. Mohammed Al-Saadoun, has taken a jab at former U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting that if he truly wants to be a “hero of peace,” he should relocate Israelis to Alaska—and later to Greenland after annexing it.
Al-Saadoun’s remark, made during a panel discussion on Middle East affairs, appeared to mock Trump’s past diplomatic maneuvers and his failed bid to purchase Greenland from Denmark in 2019. His statement has since sparked a flurry of reactions across political circles.
“If Trump is serious about peace, let him take his Israeli loved ones first to Alaska, then to Greenland—once he annexes it,” Al-Saadoun quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
The comment reflects ongoing Saudi skepticism toward Trump’s pro-Israel stance, particularly following his controversial Abraham Accords and recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital during his presidency.
