Organised Labour in Nigeria’s electricity sector has raised fresh concerns over worsening insecurity, rising poverty, and the deteriorating state of the nation’s power industry, warning that workers are being pushed to the limit.
Labour leaders lamented that electricity workers now face growing threats and harsh working conditions as the sector continues to struggle with operational failures and economic challenges.
They described the power industry as being on the verge of collapse, blaming persistent instability, poor welfare, and insecurity for the worsening situation.
The workers warned that without urgent intervention, the crisis could further cripple electricity supply and deepen the hardship already facing millions of Nigerians.
