The Command said the arrests and recoveries were recorded during a series of coordinated operations carried out in different parts of Rivers State as security operatives stepped up efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore public confidence.

The recovery of the 47 firearms, according to the police, represents a major breakthrough in the ongoing campaign against armed robbery, car theft and other violent crimes.

The suspected impostor, who allegedly posed as a military personnel, was said to have been apprehended in connection with suspected car-snatching activities.

Police authorities maintained that the operations would not be relaxed, stressing that criminal elements and their collaborators would continue to face the full weight of the law.

The Command also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with credible information capable of helping to identify and apprehend suspected criminals.

With the latest arrests and weapons recoveries, the Rivers police have signalled a renewed offensive against criminal gangs, particularly those allegedly using firearms to terrorise residents and motorists across the state.
