Plateau Fulani Leader Laments as 10 Members Are Killed in Two Months

A Fulani community leader in Plateau State, Garba Abdullahi, has raised the alarm over the killing of at least 10 members of the community in the state within two months, accusing national leaders of abandoning their people to their fate.

Abdullahi spoke while condoling families of victims of recent targeted killings, expressing disappointment over what he described as the failure of Fulani leaders to respond adequately to the worsening security situation affecting their communities.

The community leader said the death of 10 people in just two months should be enough to trigger urgent action from both community leaders and government authorities.

“Where are our leaders? You have abandoned us. You left us with our problems and our suffering,” Abdullahi lamented.

He questioned why the killings had not prompted a meeting or a strong public response from national Fulani leaders, despite the growing number of casualties.

According to him, every death represents more than a statistic, as families are left grieving while entire communities live under the shadow of fear and insecurity.

Abdullahi called on national and state authorities to thoroughly investigate the killings, strengthen the protection of vulnerable communities and ensure that anyone found responsible is brought to justice.

He also appealed for calm among Fulani communities, urging residents to remain patient and law-abiding despite the attacks.

The leader further challenged Fulani leaders to take greater responsibility for the welfare and security of their people, saying the growing violence demands collective action rather than silence.

He stressed that the killings must not be allowed to continue without accountability, urging all stakeholders to work together to restore peace and protect lives across Plateau State.
