Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has reportedly issued a fiery directive to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, urging him to take absolute control of the state’s political crisis.

In a dramatic visit to the governor, Obasanjo allegedly advised Fubara to withdraw security personnel from all Rivers Assembly members, shut down key institutions like NNPC and NDDC, and dismantle any forces threatening his authority.

“You are the governor, elected by the people. You are the Chief Security Officer of Rivers State. What you order stands—neither Tinubu nor Wike put you in power,” Obasanjo was quoted as saying.

The former president also warned against any attempts to unseat Fubara, allegedly urging him to demolish any hall or arena set to host his impeachment.

“Tinubu needs Rivers votes to win 2027, and you stand in his way,” Obasanjo reportedly added, emphasizing that Fubara should wield his executive power without fear.

Blasting Nigeria’s political structure, he allegedly stated: “Stop playing U.S. politics in a country like this—there is no law here, everything is lawless.”

Obasanjo’s visit and explosive statements have sparked intense political reactions, raising questions about the future of Rivers State’s leadership and its influence on the 2027 elections.
