Next Frontiers Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to national development, indigenous innovation, and youth empowerment through its participation in the Nigerian People’s Strategic Conference (NPSC), which focused on strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture through locally developed defence technologies.
The conference, held at the NAF Conference Centre, Kado, Abuja, brought together top government officials, security experts, industry leaders, and stakeholders to deliberate on the theme: “Building a Modern Security Ecosystem in Nigeria: The Role of Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) Products.”
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR; Senator Osita Izunaso; and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, alongside other prominent figures in Nigeria’s security and policy circles.
Representing Next Frontiers Nigeria, Amb. Comrade Dahiru Muhammad Maihula participated in the conference, underscoring the organisation’s dedication to promoting strategic engagement on issues critical to national growth and security.
In a goodwill message delivered at the event, the Founder of Next Frontiers Nigeria and renowned humanitarian, Amb. Dr. Fatima Usman Nazir, stressed the need for Nigerians to embrace and support locally manufactured products as a pathway to sustainable national development.
She noted that patronising Nigerian-made goods would not only strengthen local industries but also create opportunities for young entrepreneurs, innovators, and skilled professionals across various sectors of the economy.
According to her, encouraging indigenous production is vital to enhancing Nigeria’s competitiveness, expanding market opportunities, and generating employment for millions of citizens.
Dr. Nazir further emphasized that investing in local talent and innovation would help position Nigeria as a leading force in technological advancement while reducing dependence on foreign products and services.
Participants at the conference examined the growing importance of indigenous defence manufacturing and the strategic role of DICON in developing homegrown security solutions capable of addressing emerging threats.
Discussions highlighted how locally produced defence equipment and technologies can contribute significantly to national security, economic growth, industrial development, and technological self-reliance.
Speakers at the event also stressed the need for stronger collaboration between government institutions, private sector players, research organisations, and development partners to accelerate innovation within Nigeria’s defence and security ecosystem.
The conference concluded with a renewed call for increased investment in indigenous technologies and the adoption of locally developed solutions as part of efforts to build a safer, stronger, and more secure Nigeria.
