The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone A, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, endorsing both leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced at the Katsina Government House after NANS leaders and representatives of various student unions staged a solidarity walk in support of the President and the governor.

The students, who marched in solidarity, said their action was aimed at demonstrating their confidence in the leadership of both Tinubu and Radda, particularly in the area of education and youth development.

Receiving the students, Governor Radda expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying the endorsement reflected the confidence of the student community in the education policies and initiatives of both the Federal Government and Katsina State Government.

Radda described President Tinubu as a student-friendly President, saying his administration had introduced opportunities aimed at expanding access to higher education, particularly for students from less-privileged backgrounds.

The governor urged the students to maintain unity and continue supporting one another, stressing that their responsibilities would extend beyond their academic pursuits.

He challenged them to use the knowledge and skills acquired in school to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the country after graduation.

Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Matters, Muhammad Nuhu Nagaske, commended NANS Zone A and other student bodies for organising the solidarity walk.

Nagaske said the gathering went beyond politics, describing it as an avenue for students from different institutions to interact, build networks, exchange ideas and strengthen unity within the student community.

Also speaking, the Secretary of NANS North-West Zone, Comrade Lawal Isah, said the gathering was organised to formally communicate the student body’s support for President Tinubu and Governor Radda ahead of the 2027 elections.

Isah subsequently presented letters of endorsement to Governor Radda for his re-election and to President Tinubu in support of continuity in 2027.

He also presented a letter of appreciation to the Governor’s Special Assistant on Student Matters for his role in supporting the student community.

The development marks a significant show of support from the student leadership in Zone A, coming as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum.
