Miringa in Biu, the Noble Lineage of Borno’s Incoming Deputy Governor, Ali Abdullahi

Ali Abdullahi is the son of Mallam Abdullahi Alkali Isa Mirnga, former Accountant General of Borno State and Permanent Secretary, Government House. His father is a younger brother to Alhaji Adamu Alkali Isa, Alhaji Muhammadu Ghani Alkali Isa, and Alhaji Ali Alkali Isa, who was Chairman of Biu LGA from 1981 to 1983.

Miringa is a town in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. Predominantly inhabited by the Babur and Bura people, it traces its roots back to the 16th century. Long before the founding of the Biu Kingdom, Miringa was a powerful, established settlement.

Miringa is situated approximately 30 to 40 kilometres northwest of Biu town.

Among his family members are Imam Muhammad A. Isa, Imam Usman Zira, Jumma’at mosque, Mbulamel Biu and others.

He is a cousin to Aliyu Muhammad Biu of the Mathematical Centre, Abuja, Professor Binta I. Zaifada, Comptroller of Customs, Abubakar Ali Alkali, Ambassador Ibrahim A Miringa, and so many others.

Conclusively, he is a grandson of late Alkali Isa Mirnga, senior brother to Mallam Ali AlQur’an, all of blessed memory
