Katsina Police Gear Up for August 1st Protest: Ensuring Peace Amid Rising Tensions

As the nation braces for the planned mass protest on August 1st, the Katsina State Police Command has ramped up preparations to ensure public safety and order.

Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has emphasized the importance of maintaining peace while respecting citizens’ constitutional right to protest.

In a strategic meeting with heads of security agencies, CP Musa outlined enhanced security measures, highlighting increased patrols, surveillance, and the deployment of specialized units trained in crowd control.

Command commended citizens withdrawing from the protest due to concerns over potential violence and urged organizers to ensure a peaceful event.

The police have requested detailed information from protest groups, including proposed routes, assembly points, and contact details of leaders, to facilitate a coordinated response and prevent criminal elements from hijacking the event.

“While we respect the right to protest, any act that threatens public safety will be dealt with decisively,” CP Musa stated.

The command is committed to working with all parties to uphold peace and security throughout the protest period.
