…..‘Allowing Any Candidate to Get 25% Will Be Our Failure,’ Governor Declares
By: ABC News Nigeria
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has raised the stakes ahead of the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the All Progressives Congress (APC) expects overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the state.
Uba Sani said the ruling party was not settling for a 70 per cent vote share in Kaduna, insisting that allowing any rival candidate to secure as much as 25 per cent would amount to a failure on the APC’s part.
“2027: In Kaduna, we are not talking about 70 per cent. Allowing any candidate to even get 25 per cent in Kaduna is a failure on our side because President Tinubu has done for Kaduna something we never dreamt of having,” the governor said.
The statement underscores the governor’s confidence in Tinubu’s standing in Kaduna, as the APC prepares for the political contest ahead of the 2027 general elections.
By setting such an ambitious target, Uba Sani has challenged APC leaders, elected officials and party supporters in the state to mobilise support for the President and demonstrate the electoral strength of the ruling party.
His remarks also place the spotlight on Kaduna, a politically significant state where the parties will seek to convince voters through their records, promises and campaign messages as the race towards 2027 gathers momentum.
Ultimately, whether the APC can translate the governor’s confidence into the level of support he envisages will be decided by Kaduna voters at the ballot box.
