The Kano State Hisbah Board has vehemently refuted claims regarding the resignation of its Commandant-General, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa.

Addressing the speculations, Deputy Commandant-General, Dr. Mujahid Aminundeen, clarified the situation and debunked the alleged resignation in response to the arrest, prosecution, and subsequent release of popular Tiktoker Murja Ibrahim Kunya in Kano state.

In an audio statement shared with Daily News 24, DCG Aminundeen assured the public, stating, “I want to reiterate to our people that Al-Sheikh, Al-Imam, Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa is still the Commander-General of the Hisbah Board. He has not resigned. He is still in charge.

Probably, some elements want to use the rumors to do something cynical. He is still in his position and has continued to carry out his duties.”

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf recently reappointed Sheikh Daurawa as the Commandant-General of the Kano Hisbah Board, marking his third term in leadership.

Notably, Daurawa had previously served two terms under former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the first term of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

His earlier announcement of resignation in 2018 stemmed from disagreements between the two former governors, Kwankwaso and Ganduje.

Despite the political dynamics, Sheikh Daurawa remains a key figure in Kano, credited with contributing significantly to the success of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in past general elections.

The Hisbah Board continues its operations under his continued leadership, dispelling any notions of resignation.
