Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on a 250-unit housing estate under construction between Ambursa and Zauro in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area.
The governor made an unannounced inspection of the project on Monday, September 8, while returning from Sokoto, using the visit to assess firsthand the progress being made at the housing site.
After inspecting the development, Idris commended the contractor for what he described as impressive performance, particularly the quality of construction so far delivered.
He said the project was part of his administration’s broader commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of residents, with particular attention to civil servants and other categories of workers in the state.
The governor reaffirmed that his administration would continue to prioritise projects capable of producing tangible benefits for the people, stressing that good governance must translate into visible improvements in citizens’ daily lives.
Impressed by the contractor’s performance, Idris further assured the company that its satisfactory delivery on the current project would position it for consideration for additional government contracts in the future.
Earlier, the site manager of the construction company, Mansur Aliyu Dakingari, expressed appreciation to the governor for entrusting the project to the firm.
Dakingari assured the governor that the housing estate would be completed in line with the approved specifications, required standards and agreed contractual timeline.
The inspection underscores the state government’s renewed focus on monitoring ongoing projects to ensure quality delivery and value for public funds.
