Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep sadness over the death of popular Katsina-born singer, Muhammadu Buhari, popularly known as Kosan Waka.
Kosan Waka, who hailed from Batagarawa Local Government Area, died on Sunday at the age of 47.
Governor Radda described the late maestro singer as a voice of the people whose songs promoted peace, unity, culture and public enlightenment.
“Kosan Waka used his music to preach peace, to promote our culture and to educate the people on politics and governance. He was one of my favourite singers since my days as Director General of SMEDAN,” the Governor said.
He noted that the late musician participated in several programmes and events organised by the Katsina State Government and always lent his voice to causes that unite the people.
“His death is a big loss to Katsina State, to the music industry and to all of us who grew up listening to his songs. We will miss his energy and his message,” Radda added.
The Governor prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus. He also condoled with the immediate family, the people of Batagarawa LGA and fans of the late singer across the state.
