Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Radda described the project as the fulfilment of a pledge made to the people of Dandume, noting that their request for a modern, well-equipped hospital was made during one of his visits to the area.

“A promise made is a promise kept. We assured the people of Dandume that they would have a standard General Hospital, and today, by the grace of Allah, we have fulfilled that promise. This facility belongs to the people, and we pray that it serves generations to come,” the Governor said.

Governor Radda disclosed that all personnel required to operate the hospital have been employed, with a significant number of the junior staff recruited from Dandume Local Government to create employment opportunities and strengthen community ownership of the facility.

The Governor reiterated that his administration remains committed to executing projects that directly improve the lives of citizens, particularly in healthcare, education, infrastructure and agriculture.

He tasked residents to work closely with security agencies by providing credible information and refusing to support criminal elements.

“The fight against insecurity requires collective responsibility. Criminals cannot operate without local support. I therefore urge everyone to cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities and denying criminals every form of assistance,” Governor Radda stated.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua, described the commissioning of the General Hospital as another significant milestone in Governor Radda’s healthcare transformation agenda.

He said the project reflects the administration’s determination to expand access to affordable, quality and people-centred healthcare services, especially for residents of rural and underserved communities.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Dandume Local Government Council, Alhaji Bashir Sabiu, commended Governor Radda for fulfilling his promise to establish the area’s first General Hospital.

He described the project as a historic intervention that would improve healthcare delivery, reduce the burden of seeking treatment outside the local government, and enhance the wellbeing of residents.

The Chairman assured the Governor of the community’s commitment to protecting the facility, supporting healthcare personnel and sustaining the administration’s development initiatives.
