In a sweeping shake-up, the Kebbi State Government has dissolved the Governing Council of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero, signaling a bold move to reset the institution’s leadership.
The decision, announced by SSG Yakubu Bala Tafida, follows damning recommendations from a Visitation Panel that reviewed the university’s affairs. The State Executive Council approved the action as part of urgent reforms to restore discipline and academic excellence.
In the fallout, the Vice Chancellor, two Deputy Vice Chancellors, Registrar, and Bursar have all been shown the exit door, alongside the termination of Abba Mohammed Adua’s appointment.
Stepping into the storm is Samaila Arzika Mungadi, now appointed Sole Administrator with a clear mandate: stabilize governance, rebuild credibility, and steer AFUSTA back on track pending a new Governing Council.
The overhaul takes immediate effect, marking a new chapter for the embattled institution.
