Kenya is facing a serious condom shortage as the impact of a US funding freeze takes its toll. Health stakeholders are now urging the government to waive taxes on imports to prevent a public health crisis.

With Kenyans consuming an estimated 17,000 condoms daily and adult usage rates at 68%, the shortage has raised concerns over the rise of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.
